Lawson Software Announces Expanded Partnership with Scase

Partnership to enhance Lawson product and services offering for the livestock industry

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 6, 2008--Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced an expanded global partnership with Scase, a Europe-based provider of IT systems for the livestock industry, to serve livestock farming and production operations in North America, South America and the Asia-Pacific region. The Lawson livestock solution, which is based on the Lawson M3 Food & Beverage software offerings, helps companies in the farming and production sides of the livestock industry more efficiently control complex supply chains and consistently provide customers with the right mix of high-quality products.
A combination of business challenges, including compliance with evolving food safety legislation and strong retail chains, make it difficult for livestock companies to match production with fluctuating demand across regional and global operations.

"In the face of increasingly complex global supply chains, livestock companies need real-time visibility into operational data across geographies to make timely business decisions," said Rob Wiersma, industry strategy director, Lawson Software. "Our industry-specific software and services help livestock companies gain greater control over business processes and operational costs, so they can focus on delivering quality products and outstanding customer service."

Scase has provided livestock industry customers with integrated IT systems for 25 years. Its Meat Merit production plant system is designed to help companies comply with meat industry regulations. This system specifically helps customers log, monitor, scale, scan and label various production processes. Along with Meat Merit, Scase's Manufacturing Execution System (MES), a system that helps manage processes such as cutting, de-boning, sales and dispatch, will work in conjunction with the Lawson M3 Food & Beverage software offerings to provide enterprise-wide visibility into production for the right people from employees and managers to executives at corporate headquarters.

"Addressing diverse food safety regulations and variability in product requirements across regional markets requires real-time visibility into production processes," said Frode Dahl, managing director, Scase. "In partnership with Lawson, we help livestock companies gain organization-wide insight into their production and supply chain processes, from farm to consumer, to guide decision-making."
