Planning Workbench for Fashion
M3 Planning Workbench for Fashion supports manufacturers in the planning of production across multiple lines and sites
Lawson M3 Planning Workbench for Fashion is designed specifically for manufacturing companies in the apparel, footwear, home textile and accessories industries and is a key component of the Lawson Fashion solution.
It is an easy-to-use tool that allows planners to work from one workbench to make decisions about their forward planning across multiple sewing lines in one or many locations. It is designed to allow manufacturers to balance load within a production site or across multiple sites in a complex supply chain, and helps companies to keep lead times to a minimum while maintaining delivery performance.
Planning Workbench for Fashion enables medium-term planning of a company’s own manufacturing and any subcontracted operations. It is a desktop-based decision support tool that is intuitive to use, offers extensive aggregation options for reporting and is fully integrated with the transactional environment of Lawson M3.
In the transactional system, incoming demand is translated via MRP into planned transactional orders that cover the complete supply chain – from purchasing of materials, through to manufacturing and distribution of finished goods.
Given the complex supply chains typical in these industries this may include a large number of transactional plans. For example, fabric may be purchased into a fabric warehouse, fabric may be moved to a cutting plant, cut parts may be distributed out to multiple sewing plants, sewn goods may be sent to different finishing or packing plants, and finished goods may then go to multiple different distribution centers prior to being sent to the customers.
